I was Interested in two topics. One was the hexagonal nature of rocks (found mainly in Giants Causeway) and bee's hexagonal cells. The other was the invasion of 1796 by french armada linked to Bantry's History.
These three were my main ideas. two of these were based on my moodboard, the other one played with repetition.
the Hexagon bench was chosen. I started with measurements and communicating with Woodworkers to make the bench.
The bench needed to last at least 10 years so the wood chosen was macrocarpa finished with burned top layer to stop the moisture.
